Director of Tax Services
Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, from Louisiana State University and a Master of Science in Accounting with a tax option from the University of New Orleans. Ryan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and began his professional career in 2005. Focused on serving high-net-worth individuals, family groups, and privately owned businesses, he has experience advising his clients in the areas of trusts, estate planning, and multistate tax planning. Ryan began his career at LaPorte, left to serve in industry in Orlando, FL, and then returned to New Orleans to work with another large regional CPA firm. He returned to LaPorte in 2021 as a tax director. He is an active member of LaPorte’s Nonprofit, Construction, and Real Estate Industry Groups.
In addition to traditional tax compliance services, Ryan advises his nonprofit clients on the formation and structure of organizations, unrelated business income (UBI), policy and procedure implementation, taxable expenditures, board ethics, intermediate sanctions, lobbying, and planning for new activities.
Ryan’s experience with his construction clients includes assisting contractors with the required change from the completed-contracts method of revenue recognition to the percentage-of-completion method and performing look-back calculations for contactors using the percentage-of-completion method. Ryan also has experience working with clients on multistate taxation.
Ryan has extensive experience providing tax and business advisory services to clients in the real estate industry. His services include tax planning and preparation, cost segregation studies, 1031 exchanges, choice-of-entity decisions, and transaction planning.
Ryan is active in his community through Kiwanis, and St. Phillips Men’s Club. Additionally, Ryan spends his free time coaching children’s basketball and baseball. He is passionate about the importance of team sports for kids and finds great satisfaction in watching groups of kids grow together while learning the value of teamwork and sportsmanship.
