Rachel Nunez has worked in banking for the past 23 years. The last 17 of those years have been in Commercial Banking, focusing on supporting local businesses thrive in the Greater New Orleans Region. Rachel currently works at Home Bank as Vice President, Senior Commercial Relationship Manager.

Before moving to Mandeville in 2023, Rachel proudly served for 5 years as Port Commissioner for the St. Bernard Port & Harbor Terminal in her home parish of St. Bernard. Rachel is passionate about economic development and ensuring business owners have access to education to ensure their optimal success. Rachel helped develop a Small Business Matters Summit on behalf of the St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation to provide such education to her community. She continues to build partnerships with like organizations to provide financial literacy throughout the GNO Region.

Rachel is a graduate of the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute (NORLI), founder of Women of NORLI and currently serves as Chair for the organization. Rachel is a founding member of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA), Past President and Woman of the Year. Her previous board service includes New Orleans Ballet Association, METRO Community Center of Advocacy, SBEDF. Rachel is a four-time recipient of City Business Top 50 Women of the Year.
