Patrick McMath

LA State Senator

Republican District 11

Patrick McMath was raised in Senate District 11, went to school in the district, served as an assistant district attorney in the district, serves on Council in the district, creates jobs in the district, and raises his family in the district.

Patrick's deep connection with and passion for our district now calls him to continue his public service to our community as our State Senator.

A graduate of St. Paul's School, Patrick attended Louisiana State University where he graduated with a degree in political science.  After earning his juris doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, Patrick served as an assistant district attorney in Louisiana's 22nd JDC before starting his own businesses.

The owner of several Northshore small businesses, Patrick serves on the Board of the West Saint Tammany Chamber of Commerce, working to grow our local economy and create jobs.

Elected to serve as Covington's Councilman-at-Large in 2017, Patrick is now the Council President from which he has cut taxes, balanced budgets, and prioritized spending on infrastructure improvements, flooding mitigation, and public safety.

An active community volunteer, Patrick also gives back to our community through the Boys and Girls Club of Covington, the United Way Leadership Council, Upward Community Service, Leadership St. Tammany, and the Kelly Gibson Foundation. And Patrick's work to combat domestic violence in our community led him to being named a Real Man of St. Tammany by Safe Harbor.

Patrick’s greatest joy is being a husband to his wife Jayne and a father to his four children - Mary Michael, Margaux, George, and Mae.y.
