Kerri Callais

St. Bernard Council Member, At-Large East

Kerri Callais is born and raised in St. Bernard. She is a graduate of Archbishop Hannan High School and has a bachelors degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in Political Science. After graduation, she returned to St. Bernard to join her family business, Callais Ice Service, where she has been a managing partner for the last 16 years.

She has been on the St. Bernard Chamber of Commerce

Board of Directors since 2013.

She is also serving as chairwoman of Leadership St. Bernard where she has helped establish the program and grow it to a full class of 25 participants in its second year.She was coordinator of St. Bernard Day at the Capitol, drawing nearly 300 of St. Bernard’s officials, business leaders, and Louisiana’s legislators to experience in our food and culture while giving St. Bernard a chance to advocate for its legislative priorities.

Kerri serves as secretary/treasurer of Save Louisiana Coalition. there she has been an integral part of establishing a coalition with a database of over 3500 subscribers, successfully executed two annual fundraisers, the 2014 event drawing over 500 attendees and raising over $25,000.

She also has had several articles on coastal restoration published in The Lens, Coastal Angler, and Marsh & Bayou Magazine.

Callais also volunteers with several other organizations and programs such as Working on the Water (WOW), St. Bernard Gives Back and in 2015 she was a judge for the first Start-Up St. Bernard.

Kerri states, "My main focus the last few years has been to promote a concerted effort to achieve the quality of life that our community is capable of providing. I would like to take these efforts to the next level by being your Council at Large East. My biggest accomplishment is my two beautiful daughters, and I want them to grow up in a community they can be proud of."
