Katherine R. Dukes was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She obtained a Bachelor of Science from Howard University in Sports Management in 2016 graduating magna cum laude from the Honor’s College.

In 2020, Ms. Dukes earned her Juris Doctor and Diploma in Comparative Law Studies from Louisiana State University Law Center. In addition, Ms. Dukes earned a Master in Business Administration from Louisiana State University in 2020. While in law school, Ms. Dukes worked for the Louisiana State University Mediation Clinic. Ms. Dukes was an extern with Sexual Trauma Awareness and Response providing legal assistance in criminal and civil matters related to sexual trauma. While at Louisiana State University, she was an active member of the Business Law Society and the Black Law Students Association, serving locally and nationally. Ms. Dukes also participated in various Moot Court competitions during her time at Louisiana State University.

Following law school, Ms. Dukes practiced civil litigation briefly with a firm in Louisiana. Ms. Dukes joined Boykin & Utley in May 2021. Ms. Dukes has been actively involved in the civil litigation of insurance and governmental defense since joining the firm. She is admitted to practice before all state courts in Louisiana and the Eastern District of Louisiana - United States Federal Court.

She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the New Orleans Bar Association. In addition, Ms. Dukes is a member of the New Orleans Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Pontchartrain (LA) Chapter of the Links Inc.
