Jeanie Donovan
Deputy Director
Jeanie Donovan is a health policy expert who has a passion for working in government to improve health outcomes, with a focus on improving health equity and social justice. Currently, Jeanie serves as the Deputy Director of the New Orleans Health Department, where she manages all policy matters related to public health and health improvement. Prior to this role, she worked as the Policy Director at the Louisiana Department of Health, where she oversaw the development and implementation of major policy initiatives, including COVID-19 policy response, Medicaid eligibility policy, and maternal and child health policy. She has also held roles in several nonprofit advocacy organizations and considers herself at advocate at heart.
Outside of work, Jeanie is engaged in neighborhood improvement efforts as a board member of the Faubourg St. John Neighborhood Association and a member of the Fairgrounds Citizen's Advisory Committee. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and trying to keep up with her young son, Oliver. Donovan earned a Master of Public Health and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas, and is a proud alumni of Loyola University New Orleans.
