I grew up in Freiburg, Germany, and received a certification in International Business (falls between a BA and Masters degree) from the University of Applied Sciences in Furtwangen. After an apprenticeship in Shanghai, I began working for EY in Frankfurt and transferred to EY in New Orleans in 2004. I have worked on audits for a variety of public companies, but have focused mostly on healthcare clients since I joined LaPorte in 2016.

In addition to my role as Audit Director at LaPorte, I serve as an adjunct professor of accounting at UNO. I am passionate about mentoring the next generation preparing to enter the workforce. My role as a professor provides the perfect opportunity to help coach students in best business practices and hopefully reinforce their enthusiasm for accounting. I also serve as a leader in LaPorte’s recruiting task force. My goal is to have a positive impact on students’ feelings toward higher education, the accounting profession, and the impact each student can have on the geographic area in which they operate. It allows me to show students that accounting can be a rewarding career that offers financial stability, exposure to a variety of industries, and the chance to help clients structure their business decisions to facilitate the best outcome.

In addition, I have previously served as treasurer for Cub Scout Pack 85 and served as a coach in a non-competitive flag football league.
