Dru Lamb
Marketing and Business Development
Mathes Brierre Architects
After starting school in civil engineering, Dru Lamb moved to the Interior Design program. She wanted to have a more personal touch in creating solutions in the built environment. Since graduating from LSU in 2003, she has made her way around different aspects of the interior design industry. Starting out as a designer at Mathes Brierre Architects, she was mentored by interior designers and architects. Katrina hit and sent Dru to New York City where she worked at Gensler as a renderer and an interior designer. While in New York, Dru passed the NCIDQ, the national exam for Interior Design Competency.
Upon moving back to New Orleans, she became an Interior Designer at Eskew+Dumez+Ripple. While there she got her state license and became a legacy LEED AP. She also began volunteering on the board of the Delta Regional Chapter of the International Interior Design Association. In about 8 years on the board, she sat on many positions including President four times. In 2012 Dru was appointed by the Governor to sit on the Louisiana State Board of Interior Designers where she served for 9 years. She sat as a general Board-at-Large member and also as Treasurer throughout her time on the board.
In 2014, Dru left the firm world and became a furniture sales rep first with Workplace Resources, a commercial furniture dealer. Shortly after, she became the Herman Miller representative for Louisiana and spent 6 years in that role. Besides her role as territory manager, she also sat on their Sustainability Resource Team and she successfully applied to run their international Employee Equity Team focusing on disabilities.
While at Herman Miller, Dru was asked to join the board of the Louisiana Chapter of the United States Green Building Council where she served several positions including President twice. She now acts as an administrator for that Chapter.
Dru is currently the Marketing and Business Developer once again at Mathes Brierre Architects though she also acts as an informal Director of Culture helping bring resources and excitement back to the office after a few odd pandemic years. Dru has joined the board of the Louisiana Coalition for Interior Designers to help bring her knowledge of running non-profits and her sweat equity in doing her part to educate designers, the public, and legislators about interior design legislation and how the practice effects the life, safety and welfare of everyone. In the fall she will also join the board of SMPS Southeast Louisiana to further her knowledge of marketing in the realm of architecture.
