Courtney Johnson

Authorization Division Manager

Courtney Johnson has been a manager within the Authorization Division at Peoples Health/United Healthcare since 2020. She is the manager of the Medical Review Unit, Expedited Department, as well as the Inpatient Authorization Coordinators. Prior to that, Courtney was the supervisor of the Inpatient Authorization Nurses from 2018-2020. She has been with the company since 2012, all while holding multiple roles within the Authorization Division, such as a surgical review nurse specializing in ophthalmologic procedures and Medical Review Unit nurse. In her current role, Courtney is responsible for leading three departments in daily tasks and troubleshooting. She also assists with process improvement activities, policy development and health plan medical management operations. Courtney is part of the team that participates in audits for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid as well as the National Committee for Quality Assurance.

As a licensed practical nurse with diverse clinical experience, Courtney has utilized her knowledge to enhance the development of her colleagues with an outstanding track record as both a clinical and department leader. Other career highlights include working as a medical/surgical staff nurse and drug research assistant. Courtney attended Nunez Community College, earning her licensed practical nursing license.
