Ceara Labat was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. She studied Business Administration and Marketing at the University of New Orleans. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in 2010, she pursued a career in the hospitality industry. She landed a coveted position as an exhibit services coordinator at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
Ceara's passion for the hospitality industry continued to grow during her tenure in the exhibit services department eventually leading her to pursue a Master's Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. She returned to the University of New Orleans where she graduated cum laude. In 2016 while continuing her education, her career also excelled. She was promoted to event coordinator at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. During her time as event coordinator her clients included the National Association of Basketball Coaches, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and Bronner Brothers International Hair and Beauty Show.
When the Covid-19 pandemic descended upon our city, Ceara was at crossroads not knowing what the future would bring but knowing she wanted to positively impact the community during this time of need. When the Louisiana Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness decided to utilize the convention center for a medical monitoring station, she did not hesitate to become the ENMCC incident management liaison officer. During her work with the medical monitoring station, she was afforded the opportunity to exercise her crisis management skills and more importantly help her hometown of New Orleans, LA.
In 2022 Ceara was excited to take on the role of Community Outreach Specialist with Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans. In this role she combines her love for city with her passion for helping people. She hopes to continue a path that allows her core values of faith, family, service, and perseverance to shine through while bettering the city she loves New Orleans, LA.
