Austin Reeder holds the role of Hospital Chief Operating Officer at OMC – New Orleans.
Prior to this position, Austin was the Vice President of Hospital Operations and Patient Throughput at OMC – New Orleans where he was responsible for hospital operations and the strategic planning and operational efficiency of all patient throughput and length of stay initiatives.
Austin joined Ochsner in 2017 as Chief Executive Officer of St. Charles Parish Hospital. In his nearly three years there, St. Charles was recognized as a Leapfrog Group Top Hospital and saw significant improvements in quality, patient experience, and financial stability. Prior to Ochsner, Austin held various operations roles at East Jefferson General Hospital, most recently being Vice President of Operations and Service Lines.
Austin earned his bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Auburn University, a Masters in Epidemiology, and a Masters in Health Administration from Tulane University. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Outside of work, Austin loves spending time with his family (wife - Rachel, Daughter's - Charlee and Georgia). He enjoys running and is an avid sports fan.
