Network Coordinator of the National Black Environmental Justice Network (NBEJN)
Asti Davis currently serves as the Network Coordinator of the National Black Environmental Justice Network (NBEJN), a project of the Deep South Center for Environmental Justice. As a Cancer Alley native, Asti has cultivated her career around environmental advocacy. She grew up in Alsen, Louisiana, a small community within the Baton Rouge metropolitan area that has been plagued with environmental injustice for over 30 years.
She is a graduate of Dillard University, a historically black university located in New Orleans, LA. While obtaining her juris doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, she followed a tailored course concentration to earn a certificate in environmental law. Her legal and environmental experiences have been in the areas of: Environmental Justice, Coastal Community Resilience/Restoration, Urban Agriculture, Green Economic Transition, and Federal and Local Policy.
In her position as Network Coordinator of NBEJN, Asti's goals are to increase the visibility of those members working hard on the ground, uplift the collective messaging of the network, and expand the information disbursement channels to reach both decision-makers and affected communities.
